Video greeting by the »Chor zur Welt«

Bridging distance with music – the members of the multicultural vocal ensemble send a musical greeting to the world.

The Chor zur Welt and its members are characterised by curiosity, openness and a shared love of music. Under director Jörg Mall, the international choir connects different cultural traditions and currently brings together singers from 15 countries – among them Lithuania, Latvia, Turkey, Iraq and Albania.

Defying all coronavirus restrictions and limitations, the remarkable vocal ensemble now sends out a musical greeting to the world from their own living rooms: in it, the choir members perform the popular Turkish song »Üsküdar’a Gideriken«, which refers to a district of Istanbul from which one of the choir members actually comes.

The Chor zur Welt is one of several join-in ensembles at the Elbphilharmonie.
