Vadim Gluzman / Johannes Moser / Yevgeny Sudbin
Schubert / Babadjanian / Tchaikovsky
Dazzling violin, sensual cello, dynamic piano – the piano trio is one of the most delightful chamber music combinations. This is an evening for connoisseurs and experts: three outstanding soloists who have played together for many years perform three trio compositions from the Romantic period.
The evening opens with Schubert’s »Notturno«, a nothing less than magical single adagio. In contrast, Babadjanian’s emotional piano trio sounds like a foray through Caucasian mountain valleys, capturing the typical folk music harmonies of his native Armenia. The evening concludes with Tchaikovsky’s monumental piano trio, which he dedicated, moved by grief, to the deceased pianist Nikolai Rubinstein.
