Symphoniker Hamburg / Martha Argerich / Ion Marin
60 Jahre Hamburger Symphoniker
On this evening piano legend Martha Argerich makes her second guest appearance with the Symphoniker Hamburg in 2017. This time she immerses herself in the pianistic wonderland of Schumann’s highly Romantic a minor concerto. Then, in his »Roman Carneval«, Berlioz celebrates boisterous festivities in the life of a Renaissance painter. The concert is brought to an end by the work that Brahms himself called »a charming monster« – although he also admitted that his Second Symphony was light-hearted enough to have been written »especially for young newly-weds«.
