Based between Berlin and Istanbul, queer-living DJ, producer and curator, İpek İpekçioğlu, otherwise known as DJ Ipek, has an established reputation across nightlife scenes worldwide. She regarded is one of the most popular DJs of the Berlin club scene and internationally known as »Queen of Eklektik BerlinIstan« and »MC of cross-cultural understanding«.

DJ Ipek stands in for DJ Hello Psychaleppo who regretfully had to cancel his attendance at the Elbphilharmonie’s »Salām Syria« festival.

DJ Ipek performs a vibrant mix from many different genres. This gave her music the nickname »eklektik« and earned her a place as »one of Berlin’s most important cultural contributors« [Zitty Magazine]. Inspired by her passion for ethnic music and genre-hopping dance beats, Ipek spins tunes in Arabic-speaking countries from Jemen, in the Kurdish parts of Iraq, in Eygpt, Tunisia and Morocco.

For the »Salām Syria« festival, DJ Ipek plays a special selection of traditional and modern music from Syria and will interact with musicians from the festival. Dima Orsho, Kinan Azmeh and other musicians join forces for this pumping festival finale – the first big party at the Elbphilharmonie!

»When Ipek plays, people listen, they dance, they scream, they want more. Soon, all the dance floors of this world will be hers.« – Magazine Sylvia, Stockholm
