Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg / Kent Nagano
Berg / Schumann
Star-Violinistin – jetzt auch live und in Farbe
At the 2021 Hamburg International Music Festival, the pandemic meant that Veronika Eberle was only heard digitally in the first performance of Toshio Hosokawa’s Violinkonzert »Genesis«. Now we can enjoy her live, accompanied by the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra. Together with the Hungarian piano virtuoso Dénes Várjon, Eberle plays Alban Berg’s Chamber Concerto, a composition based on the combination of three groups of instruments: the strings, a keyboard instrument and the wind section. The other work in tonight’s concert is a homage to »classical standards«, albeit one that was the product of a Romantic heart: Robert Schumann’s Second Symphony.
