Orquesta Akokán

Orquesta Akokán brings together the best artists of the Latin-American music scene in Havana and New York. Their compositions are a tribute to the golden era of the Cuban big band sound of the 1940s and 1950s and to artists like Benny Moré, Pérez Prado and Arsenio Rodríguez. Musicians of all generations meet here: the older musicians are familiar with tradition, while the youngsters have the musical styles and trends of today at their fingertips. The result is a perfect synthesis of young and old, of Havana and New York, of different musical influences and styles.
