The double bass in all its guises

Double bass player and conductor Nabil Shehata is one of the most exceptional young artists of our time. He won the First Prize and the Audience Award at the ARD Competition when he was very young, and he was 1st Double Bass Soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic from 2004–2008. He later turned his attention to conducting, and he is now the Chief Conductor Designate of the Philharmonie Südwestfalen. In the 2021/22 season, Nabil Shehata – together with the cellist and Erlenbusch Quartet member Timothy Park, and the pianist José Gallardo, who is a chamber music partner to Gidon Kremer and Andreas Ottensamer – will present the »double bass« to audiences in a virtuosic and rarely performed concert programme.
