In Maria João Pires we welcome a guest who is just as legendary a virtuoso as Martha Argerich. Together, they interpret Schubert’s bewitching Fantasia in F minor – a work inspired by the composer’s love for his muse. Just as atmospheric is Beethoven’s »Spring Sonata«, which features the musical fluttering of a butterfly. This unique concert of friends at the Martha Argerich Festival comes to an end with pianistic treasures, interpreted by the unequalled Maria João Pires.
