Junges Kammerorchester Hamburg / Daniel Arias / Justus Tennie
Holst / Schumann / Grieg / Britten
In a varied programme, the Junges Kammerorchester Hamburg together with cellist Daniel Arias presents well-known works for string orchestra. Two early 20th century pieces by British composers, Gustav Holst’s »St. Paul’s Suite« and Benjamin Britten’s »Simple Symphony«, open and close the concert: these are both spirited works, full of variety and melody. In between these two English classics we hear Grieg’s »Holberg Suite«, written in the 19th century Romantic style, and Schumann’s Cello Concerto in A minor.
