I, CULTURE Orchestra / Carolin Widmann / Kirill Karabits

Founded in Poland in 2011, the I, CULTURE Orchestra is made up of highly talented young musicians from Poland, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus and the Ukraine. The orchestra’s concert programmes consist first and foremost of compositions from Eastern Europe: under the baton of its Ukrainian conductor Kirill Karabits, the I, CULTURE Orchestra perform 20th century works from Poland and Russia in Hamburg. In addition to the sophisticated and highly virtuoso Violin Concerto No. 1 by the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski, the programme features Krzysztof Penderecki’s traditional »Polonaise« and, as a resounding finale, Igor Stravinsky’s notorious ballet score »The Rite of Spring«.
