At the »Elbjazz« festival the Hamburg harbour will be the scene of a unique music event: since 2010 thousands of guests have been thrilled by one of the largest European jazz festivals where the unmistakable maritime flair of the Hanseatic city of Hamburg meets spectacular venues and musical diversity. The concerts and the colourful supporting programme of the festival take place at changing locations north and south of the Elbe river – and for the third time in a row at the Elbphilharmonie.

Ticket information: A seat-assignment ticket is required to gain admission to the Recital Hall concerts. Seat-assignment tickets (subject to availability) may be picked up at the day of the concert, two hours before the concert you want to visit starts, at the Elbphilharmonie Visitor Center (Am Kaiserkai 62 – opposite the Elbphilharmonie). Only persons with a valid festival ticket can pick up a seat-assignment ticket. Festival tickets (1- oder 2-day) are available at www.elbjazz.de/en.

On the line-up: The Daniel García Trio, which blends the folk music of García’s native Castile with Middle Eastern music and Gregorian chant and brings brilliant jazz–flamenco art to the stage.

And: Andreas Schaerer with »A Novel of Anomaly«, which serves up kaleidoscopic insights into the successful confluence of four different musical mother tongues.
