When you go on a blind date, you don’t know who you’re going to meet or whether you’ll get on with the other person; that’s what makes it so exciting. The »Blind Date« concert series at the Elbphilharmonie works in just the same way: concertgoers only find out at the beginning of the evening what artist or ensemble they’re about to hear. The secret counterpart on this blind date turned out to be no less than four great musicians: The quartet of clarinettist Pablo Barragán, violinist Rosanne Philippens, cellist Kian Soltani and pianist Frank Dupree played a colourful programme with works by Beethoven, Bartók, Isaac Albéniz, Claudie Vivier and John Williams.
