»Aguas de Maio« is an allusion to a work by the Brazilian bossa nova composer and pianist Antonio Carlos Jobim, and it is not only the name of the band, but also the title of the programme. Because Jobim’s song is about all the things that make up a fulfilled life – and, of course, the famous »saudade«. Samba, bossa nova, choros and música popular brasileira – the musicians’ repertoire was inspired by the infinite richness of Brazilian sounds.
