Potential to the power of 4

Young, dynamic and artistically sharp – at the Rising Stars festival, the Sonoro Quartet from Belgium shows they are a string quartet at the top of their game. The ensemble formed in Ghent in 2019, and the four musicians have been busy giving concerts across Europe ever since. In the Elbphilharmonie Recital Hall, they play music by Bartók, Beethoven and the contemporary composers Vinthya Perinpanathan and Annelies van Parys.

For one week each year, the Rising Stars festival brings the most exciting young classical music artists to the Elbphilharmonie Recital Hall. The Sonoro Quartet has selected a diverse programme that allows them to showcase their technical brilliance and musical team spirit. Intricate, dance-like rhythms and Bulgarian folk tunes with Bela Bartók. A synthesis of European and southern-Asian influences with Vinthya Perinpanathan. Classical form and big sounds with Ludwig van Beethoven. And, to open the concert, brand-new sounds by Annelies van Parys.
