Franz Liszt’s Sonata in B minor fluctuates between the depths of despair and carefree ecstasy – a true balancing act for any interpreter. This season offers the chance to hear no fewer than five versions of what may be the composer’s most important piano work, embedded in completely different musical contexts. Among the featured pianists are Chopin Piano Competition winner Yulianna Avdeeva and young rising stars like the Israeli Yoav Levanon.
