Johann Sebastian Bach meets Jimi Hendrix: at the age of 12, Californian pianist and singer Yul Anderson was one of the youngest artists to open for Ray Charles. Anderson’s music blends influences from Mahalia Jackson and B.B. King to Muddy Waters and Jimi Hendrix. In his concerts, Anderson combines gospel, blues and soul with classical music, and the best part: a large part of his programme is freely improvised.
