As a composer, conductor, arranger and, of course, top jazz trumpeter, Peer Baierlein enjoys international acclaim thanks to his authenticity and free-flowing creativity. At »Jazz im Kulturcafé«, he is now accompanied by Sophia Oster, the very first scholarship holder awarded for jazz by the Franz Wirth Foundation in Hamburg in 2018. Despite her young age, she has already been nominated twice for the Jazz Baltica Prize. Thomas Biller on double bass – a band member with Inga Rumpf, Reinhold Beckmann and Joja Wendt, among others – and Jan-Phillip Meyer on drums also form part of the line-up.

Jazz at the Kulturcafé is a monthly event presenting the most promising upcoming artists in the jazz and singer-songwriter scene. It is the perfect experimental platform for musicians and bands from Hamburg and all over the country. The atmosphere is laid back – and admission is free!
