As a result of the new Germany-wide coronavirus restrictions that have been issued, all concerts in the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle have been cancelled from 2–30 November. This event has had to be cancelled. If you bought your tickets in the Elbphilharmonie’s online shop, you will be refunded the purchase price via the payment method used for the original booking – you don’t need to do anything. You’ll find further details on refunds on the following page: Information on refunds for tickets to cancelled events

If you ask him when he feels most content, star cellist and keen chamber musician Nicolas Altstaedt answers spontaneously: »When I’m playing together with friends«! Among his closest friends, whom Altstaedt always enjoys meeting up with, e.g. at the Lockenhaus Festival that he runs, are Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang, the British viola player Lawrence Power and German-Rumanian pianist Herbert Schuch. Together they have formed a true all-star quartet in Beethoven’s honour. The evening culminates in the Piano Quartet with which the young genius, aged only 15, paid tribute to his great role model Mozart. The Salzburg master also supplied the inspiration for Beethoven’s string trios, which he wrote ten years later in Vienna.
